  1. Your plein air paintings (on my computer screen, no less) provoke the tranquilizing effects reminiscent of experiences in Alaska’s remote wilderness. My logical side rejects the notion that an artistic distillation could be as effective as reality. Yet, that side does not win. Expanding accessibility to beauty, nature, and abstraction is the artist’s gift. I cannot, on a whim, go back to the remote places I cherish. Your art, on the other hand, awakens buried memories and reaches many who cannot experience the uplifting glacial corners of Alaska–my heartland–or Scotland. Thank you, Maud.
