Maud Taber-Thomas is a young artist based in New York City who specializes in painting portraits and scenes inspired by literature and history. She recently graduated from a masters in fine art program studying Classical painting at the New York Academy of Art. Maud studied Victorian and Medieval literature at Bowdoin College and Oxford University before turning her attention more fully to the fine arts. She draws much of her inspiration from the Romantic symbolism of Victorian painters such as the Pre-Raphaelites, while her painting style evokes a more impressionistic sensibility like the society portraits of John Singer Sargent. Maud’s greatest love is painting evocative portraits, and she is happy to take portrait commissions.
